Valencia CF and FC Barcelona played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Mestalla in La Liga on Sunday night, with Ansu Fati scoring a stunning equaliser for the visitors.

The hosts took the lead early on through Samuel Castillejo, but Raphinha levelled for Barcelona just before the break. Robert Lewandowski then put the visitors ahead with a close-range finish in the 81st minute, but Valencia substitute Hugo Lino equalised in the third minute of stoppage time.

The result leaves Barcelona in fifth place in the La Liga standings, while Valencia are 11th. Here's a recap of the action:

Valencia CF started brightly and took the lead in the 20th minute when Castillejo fired home from close range after good work from Edinson Cavani.

Barcelona struggled to create clear-cut chances for much of the first half, but they eventually got back on level terms in the 36th minute when Raphinha finished coolly after being played in by Sergio Busquets.

The visitors improved after the break and took the lead in the 81st minute when Lewandowski bundled home from close range after a scramble in the Valencia box.

It looked as though Barcelona were going to hold on for all three points, but Valencia substitute Lino had other ideas.

The 20-year-old winger scored a stunning equaliser in the third minute of stoppage time, curling a beautiful shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

The result was a fair reflection of the game, with both teams creating chances and playing some good football. Barcelona will be disappointed not to have held on for the win, but they will be pleased with the performance of Fati, who showed his class with a stunning goal.
